Favorite Spots for Portraits in Houston

At some point in everyone’s life, they’re going to need a portrait. Whether it’s a family portrait, a senior portrait, or one with your fiancé, finding the perfect backdrop is the one thing that can make it or break it. If you need a portrait soon, I’ve got the perfect place to take it. Here are my top spots:
Helen’s Park
This little known park is located on Stella Link by the YMCA, and is one of my favorites for family and Bar/Bat Mitzvah photos. There’s a beautiful bridge, small river, and lots of benches to sit on and snap a photo. Plus the grass is always green, making it perfect for year-round photographs.
The Museum District
The museum district is loaded with spots for portraits. With so many beautiful tree-lined streets and lots of interesting architecture, this area makes a great backdrop for couples and family photos. Plus all the modern, hip spaces makes it a great fun and funky background.
North Boulevard
If you haven’t been to North Boulevard, it’s about time. This stunning street, just west of Montrose near Bissonnet, is completely lined with trees and is perfect for senior portraits and more. The trees are beautifully aged, their leaves are bright green and the overhanging branches will remind you of an old Southern plantation.

Buffalo Bayou
In the last few years, Buffalo Bayou and Eleanor Tinsley Park have been completely revamped. With beautiful walking paths and artistic structures, there’s plenty to see - including a stunning view of downtown as your backdrop. Head over to this spot if you’re taking professional photos.

If you’re interested in getting some portraits done, mention this blog post to me and you'll get 10% off. And if you know of some other great spots, let me know in the comments.
